The Role
We are seeking a detail orientated Workforce Planner to be accountable, under limited direction, to perform and achieve complex workforce management and planning duties within an integrated workforce of both Australian Defence Force uniformed members and Australian Public Service civilians. Your well-developed understanding of relevant legislative frameworks and government decision-making will be key to your success in this role.

In this role you will be accountable for organising your workflow and making independent decisions. We are looking for someone who can undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct reviews, and perform administrative support work to achieve results. As the Workforce Planning Officer, you will engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.

Some of your key duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing and producing simplified workforce reporting across a range of metrics to enable easy identification of trends and areas of opportunities.
  • Preparing submissions, for delegate consideration, relating to recruitment, establishment, and other workforce planning responsibilities.
  • Providing subject matter expertise on workforce planning information and processes to support Air Force through Defence enterprise changes and developments.
  • Coaching, supporting and guiding people leaders and personnel staff on a range of workforce planning matters.

Collectively, these areas, in consultation with stakeholders, provide the resource necessary to define, refine and align the workforce structures, training and people for delivery of Air Power.
